Company History

Ward Electric circa 1969 Ward Electric circa 1969. Ward Electric began in the storefront of a former Studebaker car dealership. Adjoining this building was a car mechanic's garage and a gas station.

In 1972 Ward Electric was incorporated and underwent its first phase of growth by purchasing its buildings and property, also expanding into the two adjoining buildings. Ward Electric now had 15,000 sq. ft. of warehouse and office space. To help its new acquisition of buildings blend together, the buildings were painted gold to match. This color has remained as part of the corporate colors.
In 1977, Ward Electric again outgrew its present facility however, instead of relocating, the company once again expanded its present facility by constructing a 30,000 sq. ft. warehouse addition to expand its operations to 45,000 sq. ft.. Shortly, after expanding its warehouse, the exterior was remodeled which helped to accent the companys' continual growth and improvements. In 1985, after serving Walker County every day from it's Conroe location with it's fleet of vehicles, the company opened its first branch in Huntsville, Tx. This facility was built as a 10,000 sq. ft. facility at 3405 I-45 North and remains there today with the exception of it's mailing address being change in 1998 due to Huntsville's 911 emergency response "re-addressing" project. It's new address is 676 I-45 South, Huntsville, Tx.
